Better late than never, but never late is better. Sorry guys. I do really beat myself up when my monthly favourites don't go up on the 31st of the month, but I guess in reality. Who really cares? January was filled with lots of new products, from Christmas and also new year launches from brands, which meant I had a LOT to test out - So here are my better late than never January favourites.
Rodial Baking Powder & The Baking Brush
Rodial is a brand that changed the beauty game for me in 2016, so many of the products are now my everyday staples and I am always excited to try and test out new launches. I have been using the Baking Powder for over a month now, and although I don't use it every day (purely because I always choose to hit the snooze button too many times) on weekends/evenings out etc It's my holy grail. It's super simple to use, after concealer/foundation simply apply the powder to the areas you want to "bake" - leave it for 10/15 minutes and them dust away the excess. The fine powder sets your make-up with out leaving it "cakey" and the silky texture really leaves a stunning smooth look on your skin - so good that it almost looks airbrushed. If you are considering the baking powder, I would also highly recommend givingthe baking brush a try, non of my other brushes compare for this technique and it's the perfect size for dusting off the excess from under your eyes.
Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks
You might have caught my newest edition to my CT Lipstick family in my What's new in my beauty collection post the other week, so I won't make this to long. But this month I have found myself reaching for my CT lipsticks over any other lipsticks I own. The formula is second to none, long-lasting and the shades are so elegant.. However reaching for them isn't always for lip purposes. I find myself using them as constant blog props - just for that I feel I have got value for money! They are still the most stunning lipsticks I own, and I can't ever see any brand taking their spot! Now I just need MORE! In the picture we have Super Cindy (left) and Between The Sheets (right).
Gucci Disco Bag
I know I did a sole blog post on this bag just after Christmas (here) - but I felt like since it litterally hasn't come off my arm all month, It deserved another little mention here. Even though I brought it in winter, I was kind of expecting this bag to see more life in the summer, and I hadn't expected to get so much use out of it in the winter months. Well I couldn't have been more wrong - I have not taken it off! The colour compliments the blacks/nudes and greys in my winter wardrobe perfectly and the simple yet statement design really makes any outfit feel special. The one thing I cannot rave about enough is the size of this bag - although it looks like the perfect not to big/not to small bags - it in fact fits a hell of a lot. Infact it is now known between my friends as my Mary Poppin's bag!
John Frieda Volume Range
I have found myself getting pretty frustrated recently as I have found that only high-end V EXPENSIVE products seem to make any difference to my fine, flat hair. I'm not saying that I'm not happy to pay for a product that works, because I think if it works then it is worth the money. However I always think there MUST be a cheaper alternative.
I was contacted and asked if I wanted to try the John Frieda Volume range, I jumped at the chance, anytime I see the words THICKENING or VOLUME - I'm like a dog with a bone. GIVE ME ALL THE THICKNESS AND VOLUME TYSM. I have now been using the Shampoo/Conditioner for around 2 weeks and the 7 day treatment twice. In all honestly on first wash I wasn't blown away, my hair felt soft and clean but I didn't notice anything drastically different. However on the second wash I used the 7 day volume in shower treatment (So handy that it's an in shower treatment - NO MESS!) and BOOM - my hair felt amazing, as soon as I began to dry it I could tell the difference. My hair was bouncy and BIG - YES BIG! huzzaaaahh! I have then continued to wash it with the Volume Shampoo/Conditioner which has seemed to keep the volume lasting until I used the treatment again a week later. So far so good - If this carry's on, John Frieda might have just saved me a fortune! Patisserie De Bain
Before I even begin to tell you about this brand, I'm sure you can see from the picture that the packaging is BLOODY ADORABLE. And if not for any other reason, you should try it just for that. These 3 products have came into my life in January and I feel I had to share them with you purely for how uplifting and lovely they are for this time of year. When the days are dull, dark and long there is nothing better then covering yourself in a sweet Lemon Bon-Bon fragrance which not only smells like a dream, leaves your skin feeling oh so soft. They make me long for the summer months, and when using the shower creme I would recommend closing your eyes and pretending just for a minute that you are actually on a beach somewhere tropical, it works for a few seconds at least! You can check out the full range of products and scents at Superdrug! Tip: They are super affordable to, and I think would make fabulous presents (On a three for me, one for you basis - obviously).
Bioderma Hydrabio Range
You will have seen Bioderma all over my blog over the past year, as it's a brand I found really worked with my skin, and finally products that worked with-out causing any redness to my sensitive skin! Due to being a Beauty Blogger I am constantly trying/testing new products and so my Bioderma staples had to take a back-seat for a while. However through-out January I really re-discovered my love for the brand and particularly the two products above. The Masque Hydratant is actually empty now and the Hydrabio Creme isn't far off either so I need to get on repurchasing them! I have been using the hydrabio creme as an everyday moisturiser which is light enough not to feel too heavy on my skin but also rich enough to really feed my skin all the moisture it is craving in this drying, cold weather. The masque hydratant on the other hand is a much more intense, rich treatment which I have been using overnight when my skin really needs a boost! It really helps my dry skin and I wake up with skin feeling as soft as a baby's bum! I'm glad I have re-found my Bioderma and I think you should to!
What have you been loving in Jan? xo
