Hello my loves, I really wanted to do another post in my "My First Home" series, and I thought what better than a post containing BISCUITS. YAS - sounds like my kinda post, huh! The other weekend I had a lil' house-warming for some friends and family and OBVIOUSLY I took the opportunity to finally utilise my Pinterest Party Ideas board and decorate the house cuteeeee! <3 Come & have a lil' nosy and whilst you're here, CHECK OUT THEBISCUITS!!
I opted to have my house-warming on a Sunday afternoon - this is yet again highlighting the fact that I am 23 going on 83 and that my social life is literally going down the pan. Sunday afternoon events are usually your Nan's birthday or a Christening, but nope, Georgie decides to have her house-warming. Also I actually decided to name it an "open-house" rather than house-warming, I decided it would sound a bit more caj and people hopefully wouldn't arrive with the intention of getting V DRUNK, more than likely resulting in spilling wine on my grey sofa. (Do you think I might over think things a little?)
DECORATIONS
After the time - date - Sofa probs was arranged next was on to DECORATIONS <3 Even though the intent was to go a lil wild I actually ended up keeping it super simple because it's bleedin' expensive hosting your own party don't ya know! But I really liked the way it came out. I hung a YAY silver balloon which I picked up from trusty Hobbycraft, some cute colourful bunting which I found in TKMAX and some sparkly plastic cups from Sainsburys (I wasn't going to create myself washing up now was I!)
FOOD & DRANK
Like the decorations, I kept the food & drink fairly simple (simple except ONE exciting part which we will get to in a mo). I hit up M&S for some more fancy bits - when I say fancy - I mean like M&S sausage rolls.... they just make everything seem upmarket don't they!! And then we headed to ALDI to get the rest of the snacks.. cheese, crackers & chutney, Crisps, quiche (I can't lie I just had to google how to spell that) and other lil' bits & bobs. For drinks I just picked up a crate of beers for the men, and then my new fave ALDI's own Gin (ITS ONLY A BLEEDIN TENNER) & stuck with Fever-tree tonic and some cucumber it could easily pass as just as good as Hendricks. I already had a LOT of Prosecco in the fridge because *Side note* when you buy a house EVERYONE buys you Prosecco - I practically have it coming out my eyes (So not complaining though - pass me a glass, won't ya!). Another favourite at the party was the Cranes Cider which was something I was really excited to try. They are a family run brand and the whole purpose behind the brand was for them to create an alcoholic drink that wasn't full of sugar! They kindly sent me over 3 flavours to try.. Raspberries & Pomegranates, Cranberry & Lime and Blueberries & Apples. We had fun testing the different ones (my fave being the R & P flavour). They were V popular at the party and all 3 flavours were left with-out even a drop left in the bottles, and people were asking where they could pick some up, which is always a good sign! You can find out some more about the brand, and maybe pick some up for yourself here.
So now lets talk about the BEST part of my party, probably the most memorable thing and the centre piece to my table..... THE BISCUITEERS BISCUITS!!!!
I know it's a little strange for me to say my party was centered around Biscuits, but honestly it kind of was! I put them right in the middle of the table, and you really couldn't have got a nicer looking centre piece (My heart sank a little as people started to eat them, they're just too pretty, you want to keep them forever!) Almost every single person who came round, commented on them, about how nice they looked, followed by them tasting one and also commenting that they couldn't believe they tasted just as good as they look - they're a real talking point amongst guests! In case you aren't up to speed by now, I'm obviously talking about my belovedBiscuiteers biscuits. I have spoken about them before on my blog, and I can PROMISE you this won't be the last time either - which I'm sure your watering mouths will be pleased to hear <3 I simply cannot get enough of them. On previous occasions I would have usually been gifting the tins to friends/family for special occasions (such asmy Mother's Day post) - which is really what they're perfect for -gifting. But this time I decided to be selfish - and if there was ever a time to be selfish, it has to be when Biscuits are involved, right?! To give you a little bit of background on Biscuiteers incase you are new to this magical world of fabulous biscuits, they are each hand iced in London. If you view the "biscuit tins" section of the website, they come delivered in the most beautifully designed tin (each design different depending on the occasion) which you can keep and re-use forever. They also have biscuit cards which are equally as exciting but on the lower end of the price range. They have designs for EVERY occasion, Engagements, Thank You Biscuits, Get Well Soon Biscuits (is it acceptable to send yourself these when you have a bit of a sniffle?), and even Gluten Free Biscuits!! On this occasion I opted the Party Sharing Collection - a STUNNING tin containing 30 (or more) biscuits - they are the perfect snacking size and exactly what you need for party nibbles. The adorable designs include Sweeties with brightly designed patterns and eye-catching detail (which I need to stress again is HAND ICED!! How do they do it!?). I would HIGHLY recommend picking them up if you're hosting your own party or gift them if you are heading to one!
