If you are unsure of what exactly a "Press Pack" is and why you need one or how to create one this post will be perfect for you. Let me explain how a Press Pack can help keep you on top of things & allow you to create quick, stress free relationships with brands.
I know creating a Press Pack may sound quite daunting, and maybe a little to formal (I thought so to!) but it really can be the key you need to start creating a great working relationship with brands and PR company's.
If the term Press Pack, doesn't mean a lot to you, as it didn't to me a few months back, then basically it's a document all about you! It has all the key information a brand could need in order to get to know you, your brand and most importantly learn more about how your blog works & what reach/influence you have. This can then help them decide quickly & professionally if they think your blog suits their brand, or what they are trying to achieve and overall whether they would like to work with you or not. Having all the information ready means that the process is much quicker & therefore saves a lot of time for both the brand & the blogger. What you need to include: About you & your blog: Why did you start your blog? What categories does your blog focus on? (eg Fashion/Travel/Beauty) This section will be similar to your "about me" page on your blog. Like mine HERE. Logo/Branding/Theme: Including any logo's or branding you use regularly on your blog helps the brand have a more visual idea of what kind of style you have and also allows them to get to know you a bit better. Also ensure the design/colours and fonts of your press pack matches those on your blog so that it all flows consistently. Your Stats: This is super important to brands as they can see what kind of reach their products/brand are expected to get if they are working with you. Include figures such as, monthly readership, Unique Visitors, social media following (Instagram/Twitter/FB etc), the demographics of your readers (where in the world they are) and maybe an example of a recent campaign you have done and who that reached. Examples of your work: This is your chance to showcase your best work, whether it be a your most popular campaign, favorite post, photography, writing skills. Put your best first & show them what you can do. Awards/Features: If you have managed to blag yourself an award (Well done you!) or have any achievements you would love them to know about, throw that in the mix to! It all goes towards your first impression & any positive feedback you have had will impress them! Extra Tips: - Try and keep your press pack to 1/2 pages, it ensures the information is concise and clear. - Keep the document bold and eye catching, maybe add some colour, but always ensure that the text is clear and easy to read. - Short and sweet: don't blab for to long (like me). Make it clear & simple for them to find all the information they need without going into unnecessary details like why you and your boyfriend fell out last night, or that it was your cats 3rd birthday last week.
I hope you enjoyed this post & it had some handy information for you - if you have any questions please feel free to ask me!

I could sure use a document like that! It is not necessary now as I'm only a beginning blog, but who knows when it will come in handy.

I definitely think this is something every blogger needs as well, so handy to have something like this on hand for when you're approached by a company or a brand. Would I be wrong in assuming a press pack is pretty much the same as a media kit or...?
