National Handbag Day: Saint Laurent Cross Body

So, did you get the memo? It's National Handbag Day, and if that isn't excuse to bloody treat yourself, I don't know what is? After spending a few moments this morning appreciating the loves in my life (my bags) I realised I had never properly introduced you to my pride and joy, my Saint Laurent "Monogram" Cross Body Bag. Minus a few Instagram snaps here and there, I haven't really given it the time to shine, so, with that in mind, and it being National Handbag day - I guess it was a no- brainer - Come say Hello, won't ya?. 

When investing in designer, I think it is important (unless your WELL RICH) to think about a few pointers, like at least be a lil' bit adult, and yano, sensible (boring).
Think about how much wear will I actually get out of it? Is it a seasonal bag that I will tire of by the end of the year? Or is it a classic bag that will never go out of style. It comes down to what you want to get out of it really.

For me, I wanted something Classic (hence the black), that was easy to wear (changeable cross-body strap), and something I just bloody LOVED (just look at it!). 

I love the embossed Croc-print of the bag, not only for the way it looks, but I also think it makes it more wearable. If you get the odd scratch, it is much more likely to go unnoticed compared to how it would look on plain, soft leather. Also the detachable strap means I can use it as a clutch bag if desired (to be honest I never do that though, why carry it yourself when there is a strap to do it for you? I'm ok thanks)

Inside the bag there are two handy compartments, a zipped pouch and also some card slots. This makes it a perfect evening bag. I use this for going out for drinks, for meals and for special occasions. Admittedly, it isn't a bag you could throw everything into, as it can't fit too much, but I didn't buy it for an everyday bag - I brought it as a special occasion bag. Special occasions like Oooh COCKTAILS (The YSL LOVES A COCKTAIL!). And hey, with Cocktails being a pretty regular occurrence in my life, this bags gets a lotta' use.
