Ello, Ello, Ello - So I am just over 1 week in to my "Kiehl's Detox" as you could say. I have been V good and stuck to my routine like a good little beauty blogger. God damn, I wish I was as good at sticking to diets as I am Kiehl's detoxes.
This week I have been mainly focusing on getting into my new skincare routine. I have been very organised and had everything laid out in order so that I get forgetful at my 6am wake-up and reach for another product, a bit like the other morning when I tried to bin the tea-spoon rather than the tea-bag. But that story can wait for another day.
The 3 Basics// Cleanser // Toner // Moisturiser
I think with any skincare routine it's important to get the basics right first before adding any extras. You have to nail the base, and then any extras are a bonus! Here is what I have been thinking of the Cleanser/Toner and moisturiser which I have been using every morning and night.
Centella Skin-Calming Facial Cleanser
I have never found myself being "loyal" to a cleanser - I have always found that there has been something that doesn't quite work for me, or I will end up finding something I prefer After a week of constant use every morning and every evening, I can honestly, hand on heart say, I have never been as happy with a cleanser as I have been with this one. There isn't a single bad word I can say about it. It ticks every single box. The boxes being the following: It's gentle on my sensitive skin, so gentle in fact I have been able to use it on my eyes with ease (no stinging), It seems to instantly calm my skin and settle redness, rather than drying my skin like I have found with other cleansers, it leaves it feeling lightly moisturised, it removes my make up, leaving my skin feeling SO clean after use. So far I honestly cannot recommended this cleanser enough.
Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner
Toners are products I have always struggled to get on with, I have quite sensitive skin and I always find that no matter how "sensitive" they state to be, my skin still gets the stinging sensation from them. With this toner its completely different, although I do feel some kind of tingling sensation, it feels nice and refreshing. I bet that sounds weird doesn't it. Yep. The only way I can describe it, again at the risk of sounding like a complete fruit-loop, its like when you're chewing mint gum and you go outside into the cold and breathe in. It feels like that, kinda fresh and tingly. I've never been very good at describing things. But basically It leaves my skin feeling deeply clean without stripping away any moisture.
Ultra Facial Moisturizer
Finally I will end my basics with the Ultra Facial Moisturiser, I LOVE trying new moisturisers because I sometimes suffer with dry skin patches so I always like to have products to reach for when that happens. This moisturiser is light in texture and easy to apply/soak in but it still delivers a good amount of moisture. If I was looking for some kind of overnight intense treatment, I would reach for something a bit richer, but for day to day use you simply cannot go wrong with this.
Have you got your basic skin-care nailed? And have you tried any of the above from Kiehl's?

I have been so excited for your month of Kiehl's! Got so much catching up to do on your blog posts, so going to settle down tonight with a cuppa and bring myself up to date. I bloody love Kiehl's. If I had to choose one brand to use for the rest of my life I would opt for them in a heart beat. My favourite products are the creamy avocado eye treatment and the midnight recovery concentrate; literally couldn't be without them any more. I have a little post going up soon about the Ultra Facial Range - it's brilliant isn't it?

I've never tried anything from Kiehls but I've seen so many of their products praised on other blogs lately so I might be tempted into trying something soon.

These products sound like something I'd love to try out! My skincare routine is mainly made up of Liz Earle products, a Clinique moisturiser at night and a rejuvenating serum by Swiss clinic which I am LOVING at the minute! I'd love to try khiels day and night recovery set, you know the blue midnight one and the yellow oil like one?
