Choosing YOUR Shade With COVER FIX

I'm an online shopper, that's for sure. I don't like plodding round bustling shopping centres getting knocked left right and centre and carrying a million bags - I'd much prefer to be sat in front of my laptop. (preferably with a glass of wine in hand) shopping online. As you are probably well aware, my one main love in my life is make-up. I sure do have a lot of it, but don't worry I'm not complaining, you'll understand what I'm getting at soon. One bug bear of mine is having to go into shops to pick up make-up, it's so hard to find the right shade online and I always end up either looking ghostly or a bit like a satsuma. My luck has never really been in and I always tell myself to stop taking the risk and to head into store instead.

When Beauty Bay got in contact with me about their Cover Fix make up and shade finding directory I couldn't help but get the "here we go again" feeling. Sad, but true. After looking through the options and thinking more about my skin's undertone, rather than the shade itself, I started to think that maybe this could work! Knowing your undertone is super important whether it be pinky, golden or neutral. The shades come with corresponding letters and they have this handy celebrity guidelines below:
  • For the P Series, think Julianne Moore, Adele or Emma Stone.
  • For the N Series, think Jennifer Aniston, Kate Winslet, Beyonce andJennifer Hudson.
  • For the G Series, think Lucy Liu, Kim Kardashian or Jennifer Lopez.
  • For those with ebony skin, choose a shade within the N series.

Using the charts and the skin undertone rule I was able to find my perfect shade (P10 - if you were wondering). Finally I had nailed it and I was literally over the moon! They then kindly sent me my shade in the Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation. Alongside the joy of finding the right shade, I had also never tried this foundation before, making the prospect even more fun! The foundation has great coverage which starts off medium and can be built up to complete total coverage (hence the name). It doesn't look cakey on the skin, and I found that my products IE Bronzer/Blusher blended so well on top of it.
It's long lasting - I used the Cover FX Primer Sample underneath which gave it a slight dewy glow, whilst keeping my foundation on all day.

Do you have problems with shopping for beauty online? Why not head over to Beauty Bay and find your PERFECT Cover FX Shade?
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This is such a fab idea. I recently bought a foundation online which was more expensive than what I'd usually spend because I had a voucher but I ended up with one too orangey for me. Stupid mistake really.

Definitely going to give this a try. Thank you!xx
