As cringe as it sounds, I do like to look at each month as the start of a new chapter, it's almost like having a fresh start when you see the number 1(st) appearing on your calendar again. I have got myself into a little routine as one month comes to an end and a new one begins and I thought I'd share some of my rituals with you - just in case you find them handy too!
1. BIRTHDAYS/EVENTS!
This is my TOP TIP - at the start of each month check if you have any birthdays coming up so I can prep buy cards/presents! I also take note for events like Mothers/Fathers Day and Valentines/Anniversaries. There is nothing worse than panic buying cards/presents so this way it means I am prepared, chilled and ready to WRAP! <3
2. WRITE OUT AN OVERVIEW OF MY MONTH
This is something I use my bullet-journal for. I write out the days of the month in just one long big list, I then jot down anything I already have planned, E.g Hair appointments, dentist, Concert's (Ed Sheeran this month WOO) and any work commitments! This makes it easy to look at one page and see what you have going on for the WHOLE month ahead.
3. BLOG POST BRAINSTORM & CHECK STATS
I always start the month by creating a page in my bullet-journal and brainstorming any blog posts ideas for that month. I try and make them relate to the time year, hence why in March I blogged some Spring wish lists. I also check for anything happening that month I could create content around, again as an example in March I did some Mother's Day Gift Guides. It's a great place to look back on if I am ever lacking inspiration for blog ideas! I also spend a quick half an hour checking my stats from the previous month I.E Blog Traffic/Social Media followers. Although I know it isn't all about numbers, it's always nice to know things are on the up! (or down in the case of Instagram!)
4. UPLOAD AND DELETE PHOTOS (PHONE)
This one is something I try and AIM to do, but probably end up only doing it properly once every 2 or maybe even 3 months #naughty. But when I do decide to give it a go, I go through my camera roll and delete and unwanted screenshots (where do they all come from, seriously!?) and any random or duplicate images. I then connect up to my laptop and download any images I want to keep, before erasing any ones I then don't need off my phone! It prevents your memory getting full on your phone, and also ensures your phone is backed up and your pictures are safe!
5. WRITE A TO-DO LIST
Probably quite an obvious one, but I couldn't not include it! Again, in my bullet journal I write a quick to do list for the month! This could be big important things like Car Tax or Insurance, or other thing such as booking airport parking for the summer or a note of something I want to pick up (probably beauty related haha). I leave the list open ended so I can add more as the month goes on. I then tick off anything I've done, and anything I haven't done I move over to the following months to do list (if it can wait).
6. EMPTY MY HANDBAG
Does anyone litterally have to have a spring clean of their handbag? How does so much stuff end up in there? I end up with about 19 lipsticks, 4 lip balms, 10 tonnes of receipts and 10 different wires which don't even connect to anything? So I try and make it my aim to give it a lil' clear out once a month!
Do you have any rituals for the start of the month? I'd love to hear! Also in case you were wondering the grey bag featured in the images is a bargain I picked up from TK MAXX! I love it!

This post is brilliant! I just finished my begging of the month routine, setting everything up for the month in my bullet journal, planning out birthdays and checking blog stats.

Tkmaxx have some quirky but really nice bags! Loving this one! I tend to make lists and schedule every week instead of every month, but that's something I might consider actually! Wayyy more organised doing that!

These are great tips! I love clearing out my handbag, its amazing the amount of rubbish that stocks up in there haha! I love the idea of uploading and deleting images on your phone, I'm definitely going to start doing, the amount of random images and screenshots that accumulate over time is ridiculous haha I need to sort myself out :D
