Hello You Ghouls! Happy Halloween! I've a VERY busy, but very fun October and so I really haven't been short of idea's for this post! Wooo! Here are the things I LOVED In October including 2 products I've been using none stop and I think you shoudl Trick or TREAT YOURSELF to them. I hope you enjoy and as always, I would love to hear what you got up to in the comment! xx
1. CIPD Course
I have recently started an evening CIPD Course - this is a course based all around HR & People management. It is a subject I am genuinely interested in and something I see my career moving into. I have been enjoying the course so far. The only negative is that I've had to give up my Thursday evenings! boooo!
2. Visiting my Nana & Grandad in Cornwall
If you read my October To Do List - you would have seen that on my "to-do's" was to visit my Nana & Granddad in Cornwall. Well, we did it! We headed down for the weekend at the start of October and we had the best time! We took them out for dinner on the Saturday night, and on the Sunday my granddad took us on a tour of the local bays. We stayed in a B&B just 10 minutes drive from their house, and that in itself was another highlight of our trip! If you are ever looking for somewhere to stay in North Cornwall, I couldn't recommend the Caroe Farm House enough! It's beautifully designed, clean and let's just say at breakfast you get HOME MADE Pancakes (see photo below)!! Need I say anymore!
3. Chorizo
Always have to throw a random one into the mix in these posts, but Chorizo is something both Richard & I have been L O V I N G this month. We've been adding it to bloody everything to be honest. A particular fave has been a weekend brunch of Chorizo, Scrambled egg, spinach, avocado & tomatoes! TRY IT.
4. L O N D O N
We visited London in October to see Richard's Sister, Brother-in-Law and nephew. It was such a lovely weekend. Richard's sister surprised him with a pass to abseil down the UK's largest sculpture at the Olympic Park! Obviously this was more than entertaining for us to watch!
5. Visiting a PUMPKIN Patch!
Finally, Finally, Finally, I visited a Pumpkin Patch. Ok so it was SO muddy, a right rip-off and FREEZING cold, but it was still really good fun. It was something different to do and we went to the farm-shop afterwards and picked up a home-made treacle pie to have for our pudding that night - yum!
6. Halloween Party!
So on Saturday 28th October, I finally grew some balls and had an actual "party" at my new house. You may have read previously but I was SO nervous about throwing one because A. My carpets/B. My Sofa & C. The after-mess! However it went realllly well! It was Halloween themed so we played beer-pong (which included Eye-Balls rather than ping-pong balls) and I decorated the house! On the second up side there wasn't too much mess the next day - just a LOT of bottles.
7. The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter
If you've been following my blog for a while you will know that I am all for Limited Edition packaging! I simply cannot resist it! However make it festive looking and scented with Vanilla Pumpkin, well then you've really got me hooked! The special edition Body Butter is something you need to add to your wish list ASAP - the scent leaves your skin smelling like festive baked sweet treats, whilst the nourishing butter leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated for hours and hours after application! Check out thefull range here (they also have Hand Creams, Shimmer Mists and Shower Gels in the scent!)
8. The Botanist Launch- West Bridgford
At the start of October I was kindly invited to the opening of the new Botanist branch in West Bridgford. We were treated to a 3 course meal & cocktails, and I honestly cannot tell you what a wonderful evening it was. Food Wise I went for the Gambas Pil Pil to start (delicious), followed by a perfectly cooked steak sandwich, and then finished off which a Banana split style desert which was equally as yum! We will 100% be heading back there and taking our friends at the next opportunity. If you live in the Nottingham/Derby area I couldn't recommend checking this place out enough. Find more information here.
9. Taking a day off
On Friday 20th October I took a day off work, and let me tell you it was bloody wonderful! I've never had a day off to just be at home before, usually I would be going somewhere or be on holiday. However I basically spent the day doing Life Admin (and blog work!) which was so lovely and I was able to get back on top of things and not feel so snowed under!
10. Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate & Argan Oil Body Wash
Just when I thought I was over my faze of LUXE shower washes, this little D R E A M comes along. And oh my goodness I am ADDICTED. (so addicted I may or may not have already purchased 2 of these for Christmas Presents for my Mumma & Nana because I need to spread the love). To be honest when I first saw the scent, I thought it might be more summery than A/W - however alongside the Pomegranate there are also notes of Ginger and black pepper spice which warm it up and turn it into a festive delight. The texture of the wash is exactly how I like my shower gels, it's a comforting oil which feels nothing less than AMAZING on the skin. You basically need some in your life right about NOW! Get yours here.
What were your October Highlights?
