Oh Hi June! Where did you come from?! It's officially the month I go on my big holibobs and the countdown is officially ON! I am more than ready for some sun, sand and cocktails! May was a rather lovely month to, so I thought I'd share with you the things that made me happy in May! Enjoy! xo
One: Jo Malone - Wood Sage and Sea Salt
Last month I ran out of my FAVE Jo Malone - Pomegranate Noir, so when hunting through my Perfume stash to find what to switch to next I found the tiny travel sized Wood Sage & Sea Salt and figured I would give it a try! I have fallen head over heels for it, and I think it might have made it's way to the top spot! May has been a fabulous month for smelling G O O D! If you haven't smelt it before, I highly suggest giving it a spray!
Two: A Trip To Mallorca
If you read my "postcards from Mallorca" blog post, you will already know about my little 2 night trip that we made this month to Mallorca. Even though it was short, it was certainly sweet and a couple of days of sun was just what I needed!
Three: Cocktails at Coco Tang - Nottingham
One Friday night we headed into Nottingham with some friends to go out for some food and drinks, and we finished the night off by heading to Coco Tang for some cocktails. Now can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact they do a TOBLERONE cocktail! Yes you heard that right, and I'm not ashamed to admit I had 3 of them - and I enjoyed every single calorie! HA
Four: Richards Birthday (25)
Richard turned 25 this month, yes he is officially 1/4 of his way to 100 (which I kindly reminded him on a number of occasions! We were in Mallorca on his birthday so I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend the day other than being on sun-beds with cocktails in our hands! Cheers!
Five: V Festival Tickets
Another point for Richards birthday (He is stealing all the spotlight this month isn't he!) but for his Birthday I brought his V Festival tickets - (for me and him obvs!) and we will be seeing the likes of Jay Z, Ellie Goulding, Stormzy, Dizzee Rascal etc etc! I am excited to get dressed up in festival gear, and also try and convince Rich to put some florescent paint on his face! Woo! Let me know if any of you guys are attending? You can still buy tickets here if you fancy it!
Six: Percy & Reed Hair Products
I have been all about the hair care this month, and Percy & Reed have been my absolute go to's! The miniature range is not only perfect for travel, it's also great if you want to try out some different products before investing in the full sized. They have a fabulous offer on the minis at the moment where you can purchase 4 for £16.00 and you also receive a free travel pouch! I would highly recommend trying the volumising shampoo & conditioner which has brought life into my otherwise flat hair! And also the dry volumising spray which is perfect for giving your hair texture whilst on the go! Another product I have been L O V I N G is the new Wonder Treatment Oil + which promises to transfer the driest of hair, and honestly, I can back that up! It leaves my hair feeling shiny, healthy and restored!
Seven: Ice Cream at the Marina
Earlier in the month, me and Rich took my little brother to the local marina for a stroll in the sunshine, looking at the boats and we sat and had an ice-cream. It's little things like this that really are the days I feel so happy!
Eight: Bristol Trip - Clifton
Last weekend we took a last minute trip to Bristol! It's a place I haven't really thought of going for a weekend away before, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! We headed into Clifton, which is full of cute cafes and shops, took a walk across the Clifton Suspension bridge - which has great views. We then headed out in the evening to a pizza place on the canal, and finished the trip the following day with Breakfast at The Ivy (Image below - amazing!) and then the afternoon in an escape game called "Locked in a room" which was SO much fun!
Nine: ASOS Discount
I'm not going to lie I took FULL advantage of the ASOS 20% off code on Bank holiday Modany and I got my holiday wardrobe SORTED! You can't beat a cheeky discount! Did you pick anything up?! You can see my holiday swimwear picks here, and myholiday clothes wish list here!
Ten: A Meal At The Lighthouse - Ashbourne, Derby
When Richards Mum suggested we headed to the Lighthouse restaurant for his birthday, I checked out the menu and I can't lie, I was a little worried, I had never eaten from a "Taster Menu" before, and it all sounded a little scary! "Beef Cheek" being one of the 8 courses! However my worries vanished upon arrival. We were greeted by the most friendly staff and each course was better than the last. It was honestly one of the best restaurants I have ever visited and I tried I plan to head back when their summer menu comes out and I would love to do a full blog post for you. (See below a photograph of one of our desserts!) If you fancy taking a look at the menu, you can have a nosy here.
-What made you happy in May?! I'd love to hear!
