If you read my New York blog posts you would have seen how much time I spent in Sephora, its like heaven for make up lovers like me. When browsing there I noticed this Sephora Favourites set which includes 13 top selling beauty essentials of the year. It includes a big mixture of things from primers to brushes, eye shadows and mascaras. My lovely boyfriend decided to buy it for me as part of my Christmas Presents, so it has been torture waiting until then to get my hands on it! But i’ve finally now had the chance to troll through it & try the different products, I thought I would do a post for you guys to firstly see whats inside & also to let you know what I thought of some of these top selling beauty products, and of course where you can get them for yourselves. Lets check it out! Clinique - Chubby Stick - Illuminateur. This is a great fast application highlighter that leaves you skin with a soft dewy glow. Great for keeping in your handbag. Get yours here £19.00 - Clinique Chubby Stick NARS Cosmetics - Dual Intensity Eyeshadow. Colour - Himalia I knew I was going to love this product as soon as I laid eyes on it, these kind of goldy, metallic shimmery eyeshadows are always my favourite, I use them pretty much everyday. One its own for an everyday look or build it up with some smoky colours for evening glam. This particular one it great as it is very pigmented, sparkly without being tacky & has great staying power. Get yours here £21 - Nars Himalia Eyeshadow Benefit Cosmetics - They're real Mascara This mascara has always been one of my favourite mascaras, so I was super happy when I spotted it in the set. Its amazing for lengthening, thickening and separating your eyelashes - basically everything you want it to do! It also has the best staying power - so good intact its a nightmare to get off!! Make sure to have some good eye makeup remover to hand! Get yours here: £19,50 Benefit Cosmetics - They're Real! Mascara. Laura Mercia - Matte Radiance Highlight I think highlighters have been my favourite makeup products for 2015, I have tried & tested a fair few and find it hard to choose favourites, when I spotted this Laura Mercia one in the set I was excited as I’ve not tried it yet but had heard good things about it. Firstly I love the look Laura Merica products, I think they look expensive & luxurious. This highlighter did not fail to impress! I love it. The colour is absolutely beautiful. The texture means you can easily swipe one a light dusting on your cheeks to add a light glowy natural looking highlight, or you can build it up & add it down your nose, top of your cheeks & cupids bow for a more heavy but still gorgeous highlight. I also pop some in the corners of my eye by my nose to brighten up your eyes. I will definitely be repurchasing this product. Get yours here: £25 Matte Radiance Highlight. Stila Cosmetics - Stay all day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner - Intense Black Stila is a brand I’ve always been aware of but never really tried any of. That will be different from now on, I know this will now be my go-to liquid eye-liner. I’m not usually a big fan of the pen type liquid liners so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but its UH-mazing. The formula glides straight on and because of the applicator shape you can easily variate from the finest of lines to a thick heavier line. I was able to easily create my winged eyeliner with it on my first use. Now I’m hoping they do it in Brown to for a more natural everyday look. Get yours here £13: Stila Liquid Eyeliner Lancome - Crayon Khol Eyeliner I was unfortunately not to impressed with this product the product itself has such a soft consistency that It's almost to soft when applying. It packs way to much product on at a time & leaves a thick line straight away. The only thing this would be good for is if you wanted a heavy smoky eye as you could then blend the product out using an eyeliner brush. I think you can get much better eyeliners for a lot less money from any drugstore. Get yours here > £17.00 Lancome Eyeliner Tarte - The sculptor contouring face slenderizer. Colour - Park Avenue Princess. I have been amazed by how good this is!! It's the most bendable contour product I have ever tried, dare I say even better than the Anastasia Contour Cream Pallet. I like the fact the products in a stick as its great for doing your nose contour, saves using a special thin brush. Does anyone know where I can get Tarte in the UK, the below links I can only find them from the USA! USA Link here - Tarte Beauty Blender I have tried various versions of the Beauty Blender but nothing ever seems to work as well as this original, I have found other sponges to have a more rough feel which doesn't blend out makeup as well. The Beauty Blender is super soft and blends makeup like a dream. If you are new to beauty blenders I would definitely recommend getting the original Beauty Blender as I’ve not found another yet to match it! You can also buy mini ones which are perfect for getting to the makeup under your eyes. **TIP** When using a Beauty Blender slightly dampen it before use, it helps blend your makeup much easier & smoother. Get yours here: Beauty Blender Tarte Bamboo Contour Brush This brush is absolutely perfect for contouring, I have struggled to find a brush that is small enough & strong enough to blend your contour out without spreading it to much around your face. This does the job perfectly! I also love the compact size so it's easy to carry around. I can't find the exact mini brush available but here is there large contour brush - Tarte Urban Decay - Moondust Eyeshadow Colour - Zodiac This gorgeous sparkly eye shadow is perfect for when you fancy something a little different! The colour is so pigmented & this gorgeous dark greeny colour looks amazing in a smokey eye. It's also so long lasting & doesn't crease. There are also 11 other shades you can choose from! Get yours here > £14.00 UD Moondust Touch in Sol - Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect Mascara On first application I wasn't to impressed with this mascara, it separated my lashes well but it kept them looking very thin, it looked like it needed another layer. When I added another layer my eyelashes looked great, it added some thickness & volume to them. However I do feel I can get the same effect with just one layer of the Benefit Mascara, so I can't say I will be repurchasing this. Get yours here - Touch In Sol. Make Up Forever - Base Hydratante Hydrating Primer This primer is simply fantastic for someone who h as dry skin. I often find with primer that I have to wear a moisturizer underneath to ensure that It doesn’t dry my skin out. You wouldn’t need to do that with this as the formula is so moisturising. It felt great on my skin & my foundation sat nicely on top of it. Get yours here - Make up forever Primer Smashbox - Primer Water I love this product, it is so easy to use & the spray function means you don't have to rub it all around your face afterwards. It's a great base for under your foundation, but is also great for touching up your make up throughout the day. It leaves you with a nice dewy finish, without you looking oily. Get yours here £20.00 > Smashbox Primer. What did you think of the Superstars box? Have you tried any of the featured products?
I would love to hear what you think! xo
