So it was decided, a girls weekend away was required.. ASAP.. We wanted SUN (obviously), a short flight & somewhere that looked like it could throw together a good cocktail or 6. We decided on Mallorca, and the ME hotel. This fun, stylish & sophisticated hotel was set to be our home for 3 nights, 4 days. I have partnered up with Melia, to bring you an honest, heavily photographed review of the Me Mallorca. Apologies in advance for those with a case of serious Wanderlust.. Even looking back through my photographs has got me ready to book another hotel NOW!
The hotel is situated around 20-30 minutes from Palma airport, taxis are cheap & frequent. We arrived in the stunning reception to be greeted with a glass of cold bubbles, lovely touch. The Me Team kindly put us in a Sea View, “Mode” room on the 4th floor. The room, as I’m sure you will see in the photographs was stunning. It was super modern and had the comfiest and biggest bed I have ever slept in – seriously! There is a large walk in shower, along with a vanity area perfect for getting ready in, lights around the mirror are always a big YES from me! The rooms are in an open plan layout, and there’s optimum amounts of drawers, hanger space so you can unpack super easily. The mini bar is always topped up with a huge variety of drinks, and snacks are also available. There is also 24 hour room service available, there looked to be a big variety available to order to your room however we didn’t use this service so I can’t comment. The view from the room was simply beautiful. The sea is an inviting turquoise colour & so are the pools. It was nice just to sit in our chair by the balcony & look out watching the world go by.
There are two pools at the hotel, one being adults only, and one for everyone to use. We laid around both pools, and loved them both. Sunbeds were super comfy, and there are always umbrellas available for people like me who unfortunately have to spend our days in factor 50+ with a hat on & umbrella over us. There are pool waiters walking around taking your drinks orders, and they were always happy to accommodate you with whatever you needed. It just so happened that the whole cast of the Only Way Is Essex were staying at our hotel whilst filming in Mallorca which obviously made great people watching around the pool.. I can’t lie! The beach is through a locked gate (you use your hotel room key card to open it) – this takes you straight on to a beautiful beach with stunning clear water. To be honest I am not a major beach person, I get angry at sand! So we did spend most of our time around the pool however the beach certainly is an option if you wanted to lay there. Food at the hotel and throughout our trip was fabulous! If you are thinking of booking I would highly recommend including breakfast in you stay. There was everything you could ever imagine, all spread out so beautifully and the chefs were happy to cook something however you liked it. The fresh juice stand had all types of fruit juice, and every type of fresh fruit you could imagine were available. There is a huge array of pastries including the most delicious croissants and every possible kind of bread that has ever existed (maybe slightly OTT but you get the gist!). There was obviously also full English style options available, and you could choose ingredients to make your own omelette to, yum! For lunch you can’t get better than the Me Club Sandwich, which you can order around the pool and eat from your sunbed, or you can head to the bar and take a seat in the shade. On other days we headed out and took a walk along the promenade. There are lots of different restaurants along the front where you can grab some lunch. In the evening we never actually ate at the hotel, we liked heading out and finding different spots for us to see more of the area. One place we found was called Zhero Beach Club, this bar/restaurant had the most stunning setting with sand beneath your feet & an array of beanbags, swing chairs and tables to sit around. This was our favourite place to eat at hands down & would recommend it to everyone! We had the teriyaki salmon with spaghetti risotto. However we did always end up back at the hotel bar before going to bed for one of the FABULOUS cocktails! The hotels Daiquiris are a must try – they aren’t cheap but you really are getting what you are paying for with the drinks – they freshly blend your choice of fruit with the alcohol and serve them oh so Instagramable! There is also a restaurant located on site in the hotel grounds called Pez Playa, the stunning location looking right over the sea would make the most perfect romantic holiday evening, and the paella sounded fab! I’d love to check this out next time. The hotel also holds an in house spa, which we didn’t try (how can you be inside when the weather is so beautiful out!) but it did look stunning and there are a huge variety of treatments available. The hotel itself is also situated right next to Nikki Beach – you may of heard of this as they have them around the world. They are famous for pool party’s & lots of champagne! To be honest it was all a bit to “showy” for my liking, don’t get me wrong the venue itself is beautiful and maybe on one of the less busy days I would enjoy it. However at least the option is there if you want it, and the cocktails & food there looked great! Overall we absolutely loved our stay at Me Mallorca, and we would LOVE to go back, maybe this time we will take the boys with us to! If you have any questions about Me Mallorca or any other information about my trip please feel free to contact me I will be happy to help.
